(Oh geez! Here I am showing off my kid’s artwork.)
Further to my previous post on the MIM Fender Jazz Bass; My daughter wanted to customize the pickguard on her Jazz bass and here’s the results.
I helped her remove the screws and remove the pickgaurd. She sanded the pickguard to rough up the surface, applied a coat of black paint, then painted on the design. After it all dried she sprayed on a coat of clear lacquer.
For her, painting this bass was not a random act. My daughter is an amazing artist and you’ll rarely see her not doing some form of art. At age fifteen, I think she’s already done her 10,000 hours. If you’d like to see more of her work please visit her website, A Rose For the Dead.
Her brother, the purist, figures she’s wrecked her bass. But I see it as a wonderful act of creativity.
